Enjoying My Free Time With My Kids

About a year ago, I started realizing that my time away from work pretty much revolved around sitting in front of the television. I wanted to do something to get outside and start enjoying my time, so I began focusing on recreational activities and sports. I began going through and really spending time getting to the gym, and the difference was astounding. Within a few short months I really started feeling a lot better, and I knew that I owed it all to having fun, burning some calories, and making some muscle. This blog is here to help other people to enjoy time with their families and check out all of the great things you can do for fun.

How To Hunt A Blackbuck Antelope

by Herbert Richards

Blackbuck antelope are fast, wily creatures. Hunting them in the savannas of Africa is dangerous enough, especially if the herd is really large. It is smarter to head down to ranches in Texas and a few other southern states that make a point of raising smaller herds of blackbuck for hunters to hunt. If you want this particular experience, and you do not have the time or money to go to Africa to hunt, you can go to one of these hunting ranches to see what it would be like. Before you start making arrangements, however, you should know how to hunt one of these antelope.

Opt for a Rifle with Larger Bullets

Blackbucks are neither the largest nor smallest of antelope. They fall somewhere in the middle. A smaller caliber of rifle bullet may not be enough to bring the animal down. You will need a bullet that can travel fast and hit hard. If you have a rifle of that sort in your array of guns, be sure to pack it and bring it with you on your hunting trip.

Definitely Bring an Excellent Scope

Sometimes, you have to make your target ahead of the animal you are trying to shoot. That is very tricky to do unless you have a really good scope. The scope should mount to your rifle easily and be ready to use.

Wear Deer Pheromones

Blackbuck pheromones are hard to come by, but you absolutely do not want the antelope to smell you coming. Stay downwind of these creatures and try to cover your scent with deer pheromones. They will not make you smell like antelope, but at least you will not smell human to the antelope when you are in the field. The antelope are less likely to run from something that smells like an American cousin (i.e., deer) to them.

Ask Your Guide about Camouflage

You may want to bring some camouflage clothing with you as well. However, what may work in the forests in other areas of the country may not work on the hunting ranches. Be sure to call ahead and ask the ranch owner and/or hunting guide what kind of camouflage clothing to bring. The ranch owner may have some of the right kind to lend to hunters when they are on the ranch and heading out on a hunting party mission. Sometimes the ranches have the right kinds of hunting rifles too.
