About a year ago, I started realizing that my time away from work pretty much revolved around sitting in front of the television. I wanted to do something to get outside and start enjoying my time, so I began focusing on recreational activities and sports. I began going through and really spending time getting to the gym, and the difference was astounding. Within a few short months I really started feeling a lot better, and I knew that I owed it all to having fun, burning some calories, and making some muscle. This blog is here to help other people to enjoy time with their families and check out all of the great things you can do for fun.
It's common knowledge that marijuana used to be illegal to smoke inside the United States but that fact is no longer true as more and more states continue to add laws to their books making the use of either medicinal or recreational marijuana completely fine. With cannabis use now legal in many areas of the country, an entire new industry has popped up. If you live in a state that has legalized it, you might even have seen a few recreational cannabis dispensaries in your area. If you're thinking about trying it, here are a few fun facts about marijuana and cannabis that might interest you.
The Cannabis Industry is Creating Jobs
The exact numbers will vary by state but CNBC reports that cannabis is a serious job creator, with legalization already creating hundreds of thousands of jobs across the United States and even more predicted for the future as additional states continue to legalize. These jobs include obvious ones like the clerks who work at your local dispensary but also plenty of ones you don't see.
This could include the farmers who grow the cannabis to plenty of people on the outskirts of the business. There are truckers who help ship the cannabis and lawyers who help local sellers stay on the right side of the law.
4:20 Was Started by a Group of High School Students in the 1970s.
If you know someone who smokes marijuana, you might have heard reference the term "4:20" at some point. Why is this time of day so important to people who enjoy the culture around cannabis?
The story goes that a group of high school students in California used to meet at 4:20 p.m. every day after school to search for a cannabis crop. They had found a treasure map that would supposedly lead to free marijuana. Whether or not they ever found the crop is up in the air, but eventually, they just started using "4:20" as the time each day that they would meet to consume the drug.
Edibles Are Growing in Popularity
When you think of marijuana, you probably think of someone smoking the substance. But with legalization, another method of consuming the substance is becoming more and more popular in certain states and that is consuming it through "edibles."
"Edibles" are basically any food that has marijuana mixed into it. Cookies, brownies and other sweet treats are mixed with a bit of the drug. Eating edibles does not get you high as quickly as smoking does, leading to a more gradual buzz. It's for this reason that edibles are the preferred first-time choice for many marijuana rookies.
