Enjoying My Free Time With My Kids

About a year ago, I started realizing that my time away from work pretty much revolved around sitting in front of the television. I wanted to do something to get outside and start enjoying my time, so I began focusing on recreational activities and sports. I began going through and really spending time getting to the gym, and the difference was astounding. Within a few short months I really started feeling a lot better, and I knew that I owed it all to having fun, burning some calories, and making some muscle. This blog is here to help other people to enjoy time with their families and check out all of the great things you can do for fun.

Prepare For A Trip Down South In Your New Recreational Vehicle

by Herbert Richards

If you recently purchased a recreational vehicle and plan on driving it to a warm, southern climate for the winter, use the tips below to assist with preparing for the trip and settling in at the RV site of your choice, such as those found at Snowbird Haven.

Purchase Fuel and Obtain Directions

Fill your vehicle's fuel or diesel tank well in advance so that you can immediately get on the road on the day you've decided to depart. Write down the mileage after fueling up so that you can monitor how many miles you are able to travel before needing to add additional fuel.

Determine the best route to follow by looking at a map in advance. Write down a list of highways and roads that you need to follow and place the list on your vehicle's dashboard so that you can refer to it while you are driving. This will allow you to enjoy the drive without worrying about taking wrong turns.

Hire a Caretaker and Pack Necessities

Since you will be away from your home for an extended amount of time, hiring a caretaker may be beneficial to you. A caretaker will be able to collect mail, water plants, or feed pets while you are away. Provide a list of all of the duties that you would like followed and go over the details with the caretaker whom you have hired.

Pack necessities that you want to bring on the trip, including clothing, food, bottled water, a phone, medication, and a first aid kit. Secure loose items in the recreational vehicle before getting on the road so that items do not break while you are driving.

Check in at the Campground and Obtain Assistance with Setting Up

Once you arrive at the campground, check in at the office to determine which site has been assigned to you. If you are unaware of how to connect your vehicle to a water, electric, or heat source, a camp staff member can help you. If you plan on starting outdoor fires on occasion so that you can remain warm while enjoying the outdoors, purchase kindling and lighter fluid from the camp's store.

Ask about rules that guests are required to follow and request information about washers and dryers, public showers, and activities available to guests. After winter is over and you are ready to head back home, take your time packing your RV so that you don't leave any of your belongings behind.
