Enjoying My Free Time With My Kids

About a year ago, I started realizing that my time away from work pretty much revolved around sitting in front of the television. I wanted to do something to get outside and start enjoying my time, so I began focusing on recreational activities and sports. I began going through and really spending time getting to the gym, and the difference was astounding. Within a few short months I really started feeling a lot better, and I knew that I owed it all to having fun, burning some calories, and making some muscle. This blog is here to help other people to enjoy time with their families and check out all of the great things you can do for fun.

Custom Bats: What To Consider When Ordering For Your Team

by Herbert Richards

Whether it is a mid-life crisis decision or it is a mom or dad thing, making the decision to coach a baseball team is a big deal. You have to make sure that you are constantly praising the team so that team spirit and morale is kept high. To help ensure that the team spirit is at an all-time high and to show some unit, you may want to consider ordering some custom wood baseball bats. However, there are several things that you need to consider before you place the order and pay for them.

1. Decide Whether You Want the Bats Engraved.

One of the primary reasons that people decide to order custom wood baseball bats rather than going to a typical sports equipment store to get them is because they can have the bats engraved. There are a few different ways you can go about the engraving. You can simply have the bats engraved with the team's name or you can have each baseball bat engraved with the player's name. Alternatively, to make things really special and surprise your team, you could do both.

Now, if you do opt for the baseball bat engraving, you will need to find out from the supplier whether the engraving is included in the order or if it is an additional cost so that you can plan your budget accordingly.

2. Choose the Type of Wood for the Bats.

Once you have deciding on the engraving (or not), you will need to choose the type of wood that you would like the bats to be made out of. There are several different types of wood to choose from, including sugar maple, yellow birch, northern white ash, and bamboo. All of these are incredibly durable and have great density. Bamboo is the eco-friendly choice, while sugar maple is the most popular choice for professional baseball players.

3. Make Sure to Plan Ahead.

You will want to make sure that you have your custom bats ready for the season, so it is very important that you plan ahead. Your supplier will likely need several weeks to manufacture, fully complete and ship your entire order. In other words, don't procrastinate and wait until a week before the season begins to place your order because there is a good chance that you won't have the custom team baseball bats for the first game of the season.
